Over 100 new records set during Paralympics
As many as 34 new world marks were broken on the first day

Even before the fourth day of the Rio 2016 Paralympics was over, more than a hundred world records were broken in the Games. The 100th new mark was set Sunday morning (Sep. 11) by Chinese Benying Liu in the 50m freestyle swimming, with 54.05 sec. By 2:13 pm, the amount of new records totaled 104, after Iraqi powerlifter Rassol Mohsin lifted 227kg in the men's -72kg competition.
The first day of the games, Thursday (8), was the one with the largest number of new records so far—34, compared to the following days' 31 and 24, in chronological order.
