Temer: inflation to be at target center in 2017

President Michel Temer said today (Jan. 11) that with the positive results achieved in 2016, inflation will be at the target center (4.5%) in 2017. The statement was made during the opening of the meeting of the Infrastructure Center at the presidential office.
"Inflation today is at 6.29%. Therefore, it stood within target, for which the ceiling was 6.5%. This means, therefore, that the government is following a right and proper path, getting positive results. Obviously, no one expected that by the end of the year we would stay below the target set," he added.
According to Temer, this downward trend in inflation rates will be repeated in 2017. "Every forecast for this year suggests that inflation will continue to be reduced until, eventually, it reaches the target center. I wanted to announce this good news," he said.
The Infrastructure Center was created by the federal government to develop policies to be implemented in the sector. During the meeting, they have announced a list of works taken as priorities, which are affordable with an investments of up to $3.13 million and included in the portfolio of the Accelerated Growth Program (PAC).
Works that need more than $3.13 million to be concluded will be identified and taken as priority within the budget space available for this and the next few years in the implementation of the PAC.
