The use of air transport in Brazil reached a new record in 2013. At least 109.2 million travelers decided to choose this means of transportation. Figures can be found in the 2013 Annual Report for Air Transport, released today (Oct 15) by director-president of Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) Marcelo Guaranys.
Of the total amount of air engers, Anac reports, 90 million traveled domestically, and 19.2 million overseas.
The study further reveals that, since 2011, Brazil has ed over a million flights every year—an expansion of 81% compared to ten years ago.
Last year, the demand for domestic flights grew 13% from 2012. The international figure, in turn, experienced a surge of 8.4%.
In the view of Anac, airplanes became the favorite means of transportation among Brazilians in 2013 for interstate trips with distances of over 74 km.
