Commission approves project for minimum production of adapted cars
The Committee for the Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the Chamber of Deputies approved this Monday (6) a bill that obliges car manufacturers to produce an adapted car for use by people with disabilities for every 100 cars without adaptation.
The vehicle must have, at least, automatic transmission, power steering, electric windows and manual brake and clutch controls, in addition to other adaptations.
Bill 5188/20 by Deputy Luiz Carlos Motta (PL-SP) was approved as a substitute for rapporteur Fábio Trad (PSD-MS).
The project will also be analyzed, conclusively, by the Committees on Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Services; and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
